Version 1.0 — Effective August 8, 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how Jenny Jung, doing business as Tascanade (“Operator”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use Tascanade™ (the “App”). It forms part of, and is incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Service. By using the App, you acknowledge this Policy and agree to the Terms.
If you are located in the EEA/UK, the Operator is the data controller. Processing occurs in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for transfers. Users in the EEA/UK have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Our lawful bases include performance of a contract (to provide the App), consent (for AI features), compliance with legal obligations, and legitimate interests (e.g., security and fraud prevention). For questions or support, please .
When you sign in with your Google account, we receive your name, email address, and profile image. Depending on the features you choose to use, the App may access your Gmail and Google Calendar in order to enable functionality such as drafting emails, displaying or creating events, and related features. You can revoke the App’s access to your Google data at any time in your Google Account permissions. To do this, go to your Google Account → Security → Manage third-party access. If you use the image-to-event scan, we process the images you select solely to extract event information. We also process limited device information necessary to operate and secure the App (for example, operating system version and basic diagnostics/crash logs supplied by Apple if you have enabled such sharing on your device). We do not collect more information than is reasonably necessary to provide the App and support its performance. The App only requests access to Gmail and Calendar data necessary to provide its features. We do not request access to Google Contacts or other Google services.
We process information for the following purposes:
The App integrates with:
When you use AI features, the App sends only the data needed to fulfill your request. For drafting, we may send the subject and body text of your message. If replying to an email, the original subject and body may also be sent so the AI can tailor the reply. If composing a brand-new message, only the text in the new draft is sent when mic mode or event detection is enabled. In all cases, full email addresses or domains are never transmitted. For image-based features, the image you select is sent to Gemini solely to extract event details. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS), used only to process your request, and is not stored on our servers. Where available, we configure provider settings to restrict use of your data for model training. Third-party providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not share your data with third parties for their advertising or marketing.
Tascanade’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only use Google data to provide the features you request (e.g., reading Gmail to help draft emails and reading/writing Calendar events). We do not sell Google user data or use it for advertising. We do not allow humans to read Google user data except with your explicit consent, for security/abuse investigations, to comply with law, or where the data is aggregated or de-identified. We do not use Google user data to train AI models.
We do not request access to Google Contacts or other Google services.
We do not retain Gmail message bodies or Calendar event contents on our servers after fulfilling your requests. Temporary on-device caches are cleared when you sign out. Calendar data is accessed only on-demand when you open the Calendar view or enable Event Detection in a draft, and it is not retained beyond the current session.
To improve responsiveness, the App may create temporary on-device caches (e.g., recent calendar events and frequently emailed contacts). These caches are deleted when you sign out and may be included in your device’s encrypted backups if enabled. Subscription status is maintained locally and synchronized through Apple’s App Store mechanisms.
All network requests made by the App (including Google Sign-In, Google APIs, Apple purchase APIs, and AI providers) are transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication is token-based via Google Sign-In; tokens are managed by the Google SDK and stored in the iOS Keychain. The App does not store your personal Google data on any server it controls. Certain requests may be securely routed through our API layer solely to forward them to the selected AI provider, and are not retained after the request is completed. Gmail messages and Calendar events accessed through the App are processed on your device and are not stored on our servers. For performance, limited on-device caches (e.g., recent events and frequently emailed contacts) may be used and are cleared when you sign out; such data may be included in your device’s encrypted backups if enabled. Subscription status is stored locally and synchronized via Apple’s App Store mechanisms. We do not log email bodies or images in plaintext, and release builds suppress verbose debugging output. When you use AI features, only the minimum necessary data is sent to the selected provider over encrypted connections solely to fulfill your request; we do not send full email addresses or domains, and we do not retain this data on our servers.
We implement reasonable measures to protect your data on your device. Communications with Google and AI services are encrypted. To request deletion of personal information we control (e.g., support correspondence), please from the address associated with your request. On-device data is deleted when you sign out or use the in-app reset option. We do not sell or ‘share’ personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
The App is not directed to children under thirteen (13), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that such information has been provided, we will delete it and disable related access. To request deletion, parents and guardians may to request removal.
If you choose to subscribe to enable expanded Calendar Scan usage and any other premium features described in-app, payment processing is handled by Apple through your App Store (Apple ID) account. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We may receive limited subscription metadata (e.g., product identifier, purchase/renewal status, and transaction identifiers) to activate and manage your access. Your purchase is governed by Apple’s terms and Apple’s privacy policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. The latest version will be available in the App. Your continued use after changes means you accept the updated Privacy Policy. By continuing to access or use Tascanade after the Effective Date, you agree to the revised policy. If you do not agree, you must stop using the App and, if applicable, cancel any subscription through your Apple ID settings.
